Prompt & Done · BLENDER pack

One prompt. A whole scene, in free Blender.

MCP for Blender (formerly blender-mcp, MIT, third-party and not made by Blender) lets Claude Code drive a live Blender. In our run it built, lit and rendered a snowy cabin, looked at its own viewport, and fixed a misplaced roof and missing pine trees.

1 Install

You need Blender (free, blender.org), Claude Code, and uv. One command finds your AI apps, installs the Blender add-on and enables it:

uvx mcp-for-blender setup

Prefer manual? Add the server to Claude Code, install the add-on, then in Blender open Edit, Preferences, Add-ons and enable Interface: MCP for Blender:

claude mcp add blender uvx mcp-for-blender
uvx mcp-for-blender install-addon

Open Blender first, then start Claude Code. Repo and README: github.com/ahujasid/blender-mcp (now mcp-for-blender). Our versions: Claude Code 2.1.308, Opus 5.5, Blender 5.2.2 LTS, 22 Oct 2026.

2 The prompt from the reel

Build a snowy cabin at night in Blender: glowing windows, chimney smoke, pine trees, falling snow. Check your work in the viewport and fix what looks wrong. Then render it portrait, 1080x1920, with a slow 3 second push-in. Save the renders in the current folder.

Three more to try:

The phrase that matters is the middle one: asking it to check the viewport and fix what looks wrong is what made it catch its own mistakes.

3 What we saw

One run, 11 minutes 45 seconds from prompt to finished render (including a one-time consent dialog and two full 72-frame renders): 29 code runs and 17 viewport looks. Mistakes it caught itself: the roof sat off the walls, the pine trees showed in the viewport but not in the render (their template collection was set not to render), a chimney shadow looked like a glitch, and the first push-in cropped the smoke. Output: a 1080×1920 still and a 3-second MP4.
